ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

What a great picture to go along with the post!
We heard a great message by a preacher in Ohio on the 'seasons of life'. This was a key time in our life. It was before Brittany was born. God was preparing our hearts and calling us back to Him. Every time I hear a reference to seasons in a persons life (spiritually) I always think of that sermon.

There is a season, turn, turn, turn

this is such an ulifting scripture, I have posted in my room. It's strange how each verse represents a specific event, or time. That's how I feel when I read it. Also, it's great because even though we go through seasons of weeping, mourning, or throwing stones away - God will always provide a season of dance, gathering stones, and life. Each verse is a different hurt, and a different gift.

I LOVE this passage! I am actually doing a study on Ecclesiastes right now and God really showed me in that particular passage that no matter what the season is, I need to choose to be joyful. The one verse that really spoke to me was Ecclesiastes 3: 13
"That everyone may eay and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil-this is the gift of God"
God wants us to find satisfaction in our labouring in toil as it is directly from His hand. That satisfaction can only be found in Him.
