Strength, Tools, and Intelligence

Three men were hiking through a forest when they
came upon a large, raging, violent river.
Needing to get to the other side, the first man prayed,
"God, please give me the strength to cross the
river."

Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs
and he was able to swim across in about 2
hours,
having almost drowned twice.

After witnessing that, the second man prayed,
"God, please give me strength and the tools to
cross the river."

Poof! God gave him a rowboat and strong arms
and strong legs
and he was able to row across in about an hour
after almost capsizing once.

Seeing what happened to the first two men, the
third man prayed,
"God, please give me the strength, the tools,
and the intelligence to cross the river."

Poof!! He was turned into a woman.
She checked the map, hiked one hundred yards
upstream, and walked across the bridge.

The Day After.....it hurts to laugh!!

I’m still laughing about my “butt kicking” incident yesterday; however it hurts to laugh. You know what they say about the day after really telling the true story.

Today getting out of bed was a challenge. My back, neck, side, and kicking leg are VERY stiff and sore. The good news is my elbow is looking somewhat normal in size…although interesting in color. Over all my body is feeling the effects of the harsh impact with that ceramic floor - believe me when I say this is not a good feeling.

To answer Jen’s questions from the comment section yesterday - no and yes – “No, Fortunately I was not wearing a flounced skirt but rather dress pants.” In every cloud there is a silver lining. And yes, “butt kicking is still acceptable But not always the most intelligent thing to attempt...Warning: Do Not Attempt This At Home As It May Result In Injury

I will be taking lots of warm baths with Epsom salts and taking some muscle relaxers.

WORD TO SELF: “You are not 25, you are 45 years old…so act and move accordingly!” (boring!!)

FUNNY BONE..PAINFUL BUT A GOOD LAUGH!!

Today I learned a very valuable lesson that I thought all could benefit from hearing and hopefully not repeating my mistake.

I was in the church kitchen preparing a snack for our worship team. The coffee was on, the fruit was cut and the muffins were ready to go.

I was chatting with a couple from our church. We were all just laughing and having fun….. And then it happened…. Mom had what my kids would refer to as a “brain fart”.

I learned that wet ceramic floors, high heels, and fast movements - Are Not A Good Combination.

One moment I was chasing someone in effort to “give them the boot” and the next moment I was flat on my back. It happened so FAST!!! I hit the floor HARD and my elbow came down with a THUD. Everyone was holding their breath………. waiting……..then I began to laugh, deep belly laughter. The entire thing struck me sooooo funny!

I was in pain and needed help getting up. I managed to drape my coat over my ice packed arm and keep it hidden as I chatted with people in the lobby and throughout the service.

I finally told Kev what I’d done and let him have a peek. My elbow is nasty looking; extremely swollen, black and blue…. not pretty! Tomorrow I will see the doctor (at Kevin’s insistence). He is concerned that I may have chipped the bone.

Anyhow, I am a little sore and stiff…but it was funny. I will skip my treadmill routine tonight and not feel the least bit guilty!

I’ve added a new thing to my reformation list…no running, chasing, or kicking on wet ceramic tile floors while wearing high heel shoes. I would encourage you all to join me in this reformation idea!!
